Hanging out in Oundle, near Apethorpe

Pubs love Check Carpets,( or Tartan if in Scotland)

This one has recently had a trendy make-over. Note door-wall and deer head light fitting. I was served by an English Rose with a Public School accent, in her Gap Year, several months of which she spent in Southern Africa. (" Oh, the Mountains, the Mountains!" ) There was a Soprano singing classical arias on the sound system. ( "I know her voice but can't remember her name- I listen to Classic FM in my car.") Maybe it was the choice of the Publican, a 2nd?/ 3rd? generation Indian.

Maybe you'd like a Thatched Cottage in the area. However, consider the fire risk.( advice from the Gardener)

Or something larger?

Or would you rather rent?

Perhaps moving to Brittany would be better: houses are half the price there, and the weather's sunnier.
