EDINBURGH 2014

Edinburgh is where the Commisioner of Northern Lighthouses hangs out. Hang the Southern ones.

Dogs are not third class citizens. Maybe only second class. Go on.. You KNEW the bus seats would be tartan. Like the hotel carpets.

The old buildings in the centre of town are grand. The tall spire was built in the mid-1800s to commemorate Walter Scott... This is a town that takes its writers seriously. The building photos are not mine, obviously.

But the housing stock for the majority is depressingly grey/beige boxes. How would you like to come home to this every night of your life? These are not the worst, by any means.

If you are posh, you might live in the " New Town", like Alexander McCall Smith. Then you can have a flasher box.

It may look nicer inside though, but will set you back a couple of million dollars. Or more.

  2. Kathy - those grey boxes run throughout the UK! That's why so many Brits come here.
